3D Lipo is designed to help you diminish unwanted stubborn areas of fat, cellulite, loose skin or maybe even all of the above almost anywhere on your body. The most popular areas that we treat here at Diverse Beauty are thighs and abdomen but we of course are also treating lots of love handles, arms and even those pesky double chins! If you can pinch an inch it’s treatable! 3D Lipo uses a combination of 5 technologies. Each technology is designed to focus on different aspects allowing us a wide range of methods to target each concern, area or issue individually so that we can give you the best, personalised, overall treatment leaving you with great results.
Firstly lets explain about fat cells and how they work so we can really begin to understand how this treatment can reduce our fat and give us results.
Fat is stored energy. When you eat, your body transforms carbohydrates, protein, and dietary fat into fatty acids which are chains of molecules that are the building blocks of body fat, glucose (blood sugar), or amino acids. These provide energy that you either burn right away or pack up for later. Without body fat, you’d have to eat all the time just to keep your body functioning. We need to have a healthy amount of fat in our bodies which is around 30 – 40 billion fat cells but someone who’s very obese might have as many as 100 billion.
Fat that isn’t used right away gets stored in cells. If you looked at a cell under a microscope you would see that fat makes up about 85% of the cell’s volume. Fat cells typically start at 5 millionths of a meter in diameter, too tiny to be seen by the naked eye. But each one can increase by 100 times in volume, to the size of the full stop which is big for a cell. When a fat cell is full it sends a chemical signal to surrounding tissue to create new ones. This is where 3D Lipo comes into play!
Let’s now have a closer look at how 3D Lipo can reduce those excess fat cells and get you your results by explaining a little about how each of these technologies work:
Radio Frequency – Radio Frequency, in the context of aesthetic applications, is a general method to heat deep skin layers by delivering a High Frequency current into the body. The layers of our skin act like resistors to the High Frequency electrical current and depending on their resistance they heat up to varying degrees. The targeted temperature that we increase our skin to is 40º C and we keep it at this temperature for a few minutes but skin temperature will be kept below 45º C. The Radio Frequency treatment is beneficial for clients seeking skin tightening on their body or face and also offers a smoothing appearance on areas of cellulite.
Ultrasound Cavitation – During the Cavitation treatment the ultrasound frequency penetrates 20 – 30 mm down into layers of the skin targeting the fat cells. The frequency produces pressure in the liquid within the fat cell, which then creates movement; the membranes of the fat cells are disrupted. The fat cell content, primarily comprised of fatty acids called triglycerides (a type of fat), is dispersed into the fluid between the cells and then transported through the vascular and lymphatic systems to the liver. The liver makes no distinction between fat coming from the Cavitation treatment and fat originating from consumed food, both are processed by the body’s natural mechanisms. The Cavitation treatment has been designed to help, average to overweight, men and women. It offers an alternative to clients seeking effective reduction of localized fat deposits without surgery.
3D Dermology – 3D-dermology is a perfect addition to every treatment for every client. Especially directly after Cavitation to help and move along the broken down fat cells to the lymph so our bodies can work on dispersing them. It is used to target cellulite reduction and helps to increase our blood supply along with enhancing lymph circulation via the unique combination of a vacuum and roller action.
And finally our last technology, Cryolipolysis – Cryolipolysis treats pockets of fat by freezing fat to minus 6 degrees using a chilled hand piece to create apoptosis within the fat in targeted areas and is ideal for sculpting the body shape. Apoptosis is sometimes referred to as programmed cell death the process of apoptosis follows a controlled, predictable routine. When fat cells are exposed to a precise cooling below body temperature, they undergo crystallisation, separation and localised cell death (apoptosis). This is followed by a local inflammatory response. During Cryolipolysis the cell shrinks and sends out distress signals, which are answered by macrophages. The macrophages clean away the shrunken or damaged cells, leaving no trace. This stimulates a natural fat removal process which will effect around 20 – 40% of the fat cells within the pocket and continues for 8 to 12 weeks after the procedure. Therefore Cryolipolysis can be used as a one off treatment or followed by the other methods when using this method as part of a course.
Now you know how each technology works, it’s as simple as that! Each client has a different motive or reason for having or wanting this treatment so we start with a consultation to help us therapists understand what you want to achieve, we then decide on a plan moving forward for you as an individual. We take into consideration your reasons as well as looking at the area to be treated to come up with a plan of action that is right for you. Every client will begin with a course of 8 one hour treatments with one weekly interval in between as standard. During the duration of each treatment, we will decide which technologies are best to use for you and your target area so that we can get you the best results. We may change or adapt what methods we use each week or keep it the same but the best thing is knowing that whichever methods we use it’s personalised to you and working with the change! We monitor your weight and measure you throughout as well as taking photos so that you can see your transformation over the period of 8 weeks. 3D Lipo is also very convenient to fit into busy lives and schedules because it works with your body’s systems to remove the fat, tighten and smooth the skin naturally therefore there is no requirement to exercise in order for the fat to reduce.
We would always recommend that you stay active and eat a healthy and balanced diet as this will of course help speed you along in achieving those desired results. When you come for your initial consultation we will give you resources to help you to swap foods for something healthier or to choose healthier options altogether when it comes to meals, as well as help you with portion size. Using these guidelines will help to enhance your results during your course of 3D Lipo. We do not require you to follow a diet and exercise plan for your treatments to work or to achieve results but by making healthier choices you will be aiding your results.
3D Lipo is by no means a quick fix and you will need to make sure that you commit yourself to the treatments and work hard to push yourself to getting even better results by making small changes to your diet and lifestyle. Staying realistic with your results is also key, but we will of course endevour to keep you motivated and on track by guiding you in the right direction, making your goals closer than you may think.
